The
Corolla Hatchback
is one of the
least expensive Toyotas you can purchase in America
currently, with prices staying the same
remained almost identical for the 2025 model year
With more than 230,000 units sold in 2024, the Japanese car manufacturer plans to enhance the popularity of the five-door version by extending the availability of the FX Edition through the 2026 model year.
Meant as a callback to the sporty FX16 models sold during the ’80s, the FX Edition adds a dose of nostalgia to
the most popular nameplate in the world
, but it’s not quite as special as its limited-edition status suggests.

A Touch of Elegance to the Beloved Badge
One prominent enhancement included with the 2026 Corolla Hatchback EX Edition is the pair of 18-inch glossy white finish alloy wheels paired with black lug nuts. This exclusive edition features a black vented spoiler enhancing its style, along with matching black side mirrors and rear emblem. Completing this package, the hatchback boasts a heritage-themed FX badge on the back, reminiscent of the classic FX16 design.
The interior of the FX Edition features black sports tourer seats adorned with suede sections and orange stitching, an aesthetic element shared across the door panels, steering wheel, and gearshift gaiter.
Just like last year
, the model is based on the base SE trim, but it’s still loaded with features such as a 7-inch digital gauge cluster with customizable layouts, an 8-inch infotainment system, wireless smartphone connectivity and charging, and

Still No Additional Oomph To Rival The Civic Si
The 2026 Toyota Corolla Hatchback FX Edition continues to be driven by the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing up to 169 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque, delivered to the wheels through a CVT. There have been no alterations noted, which means bad news for enthusiasts hoping for an actual FX16 update capable of competing with the competition.

Of note, Toyota is adding trial versions of three of its connected services with the MY2026 FX Edition: Safety Connect (5-year trial), Service Connect (5-year trial), and Remote Connect (1-year trial).
There are three colors available for the 2026 Toyota Corolla Hatchback FX Edition – Ice Cap, Blue Crush Metallic, and Inferno, which is depicted here. Unfortunately, Toyota hasn’t disclosed the pricing for the FX Edition, though it’s important to note that the 2025 version has a price tag of $27,785. The Japan-built model will be limited to 1,600 units only, all sold in America and expected to arrive at Toyota dealerships this fall.
