Part of Ferry Road in Charlotte has been shut down because of a HAZMAT incident involving a diesel fuel tanker, as reported by authorities.
VT-ALERTS released a statement regarding the road closure shortly after 9 a.m. on Wednesday.

The Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles stated that a freight truck from the Lake Champlain Transportation Company, specifically a Freightliner model, which was transporting around 3,000 gallons of diesel fuel, collided with another object shortly before 6:00 AM.
The inspectors stated that the car’s wheels struck the edge of the road, leading to it flipping onto the passenger side and ending up in a drainage ditch.
The car was removed from the location. The person driving did not sustain injuries in the accident.
As of 11 a.m., part of the road is still shut down as workers strive to clear away the wreckage.
Ferry Road serves as the entryway to the Charlotte Ferry Dock, which leads to Essex, New York.
