Two Motorcyclists Rushed to Hospital After Collision with Lorry in Cork

A rider and their pillion passenger were urgently taken to the hospital after a severe crash involving a motorcycle.

The incident took place on the N20 Cork-Limerick road.

The motorcycle rider and their rear-seat passenger were swiftly taken to the hospital due to severe injuries. The route connecting New Twopothouse and Buttevant remains closed, with detours set up for local traffic, as reported.

Gardaí
were still at the scene at midday on Saturday and have launched an investigation into the incident.


A Garda statement on the incident read: “Gardaí are currently at the scene of a two vehicle road traffic collision on the N20 near Buttevant, Co. Cork that occurred at approximately 7am this morning, Saturday 26th April, 2025.

“The collision involved a motorbike and lorry that collided. The male motorcyclist and his male pillion passenger were removed from the scene to hospital with serious injuries. The road is currently closed and local diversions are in place.

“Investigations are ongoing.”
