Would You Spend $337K on a Luxurious Vintage Range Rover? One Buyer Will

Posted on

Initially priced at just a few thousand dollars, the Range Rover Classic has been transformed by Vinile, an emerging Italian label from Maranello, into a vehicle worth 280,000 EUR (roughly 337,500 USD). This iconic SUV, familiar to all automobile aficionados, merges contemporary design elements with luxurious touches inspired by Italy. The production run will include only 15 examples of this refined classic.

Nevertheless, views on its worth differ. Car collectors who possess one or two supercars could highly regard it for its artistry and exclusivity. Yet, it might be challenging for typical buyers to see justification for purchasing a customized car from an unaccredited new company priced at 280,000 EUR.

Classic-Inspired Interior

The price rivals that of supercars.

Vinyle has maintained the iconic Range Rover’s initial design while enhancing the finer points to align with contemporary luxury norms. The exterior now boasts a cleaner look through the elimination of ornamental features, highlighted only by a slender yellow stripe along the front doors for a slight aesthetic touch. Retaining its signature squared-off form, this model is further distinguished by bespoke side mirrors, 16-inch rims, and BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires, keeping up an unmistakably tough sport utility vehicle presence.

The cabin showcases a more daring design philosophy, incorporating luxurious materials with striking visual elements. Premium leather and suede sourced from the esteemed Italian company Baxter envelop the dashboard, seating areas, and steering wheel. Drawing inspiration from traditional British vehicles, meticulously crafted poplar wood accents enhance the interior aesthetics. Additional practical enhancements consist of aircraft-style switchgear, a compartment within the dash intended for wristwatches, an 10.1-inch freestanding touch screen display, along with seamless compatibility with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionalities.

This audio setup comprises ten Focal speakers, three Rockford amplifiers, and dual subwoofers designed for an exceptional auditory enjoyment.

Can Consumers Embrace a V8 Engine With Under 200 Horsepower?

The engine choices consist of a 3.5L, 3.9L, or 4.3L V8, each model generating just below 200 horsepower. This selection preserves the vintage charm associated with traditional Range Rovers; however, it might let down individuals anticipating power comparable to high-performance vehicles priced like supercars. Additionally, since this car originates from an emerging brand lacking European approval for certification, questions arise regarding its dependability.

Opinions vary widely. Some people debate the cost, preferring instead to invest in a high-performance sports car. Others believe that the exceptional quality and limited availability make the price worthwhile. This vehicle appeals most to those who cherish exclusivity and sentimental appeal more than sheer speed.

Vinile publicly presented this model during Milan Design Week. The initiative merges creative design with automobile expertise. It is yet to be determined how the public will respond to it.
